Brett Favre is confident he will be fit to play for Green Bay against St Louis on Sunday, despite struggling with a pinched nerve.
The veteran quarterback picked up the injury in the Packers' loss to Philadelphia on Monday night.
He was forced to leave the game after being hit by Jugua Thomas, although it is hoped he will be available for the week five clash with the Rams.
Favre has started the last 245 games for Green Bay, an NFL record for a quarterback.
Meanwhile, the union that represents NFL players has announced it will not be appealing the five-week suspension handed out to Tennessee Titans tackle Albert Haynesworth for stepping on the head of Dallas centre Andre Gurode.
"We represent both players here, and it is best for all concerned that we let the suspension stand," said NFL Players Association Executive Director Gene Upshaw.
Haynesworth had already stated he was not going to launch a personal appeal and apologised for his actions.
He was ejected from the game following the third-quarter incident during the Titans' 45-14 loss to the Cowboys.
Arizona Cardinals coach Dennis Green has confirmed that rookie Matt Leinart will start at quarterback against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
The 23-year-old - who was the 10th overall pick in the draft - takes over under centre from Kurt Warner, who has paid the price for the Cards' 1-3 start to the season.
