Injured Impek out of King George  Latest Transfer

Impek has been ruled out of the King George VI Chase on Boxing Day after suffering from recurring lameness.

Henrietta Knight's 10-year-old, third in last year's race, was as low as 10-1 in places and started this season well.

She said: "He's going to need time off for it to come right. I shouldn't think he will run now until the spring."

Knight's hopes of a third King George success at Kempton after victories for Best Mate and Edredon Bleu now rest with Racing Demon.

Priced at 6-1 third favourite with race sponsors Stan James, her highly-rated gelding was last seen decisively winning the Peterborough Chase.

"He was always going to be a runner there, and is in good form," said Knight.
