Course Description
Cartmel racecourse features an oval circuit some 1mile 1 furlong in length which runs left handed. Six fences and tight bends make this a challenging circuit.
Facilities
The Paddock Enclosure: Entry to this enclosure gives customers access to the main grandstand, parade ring, winners enclosure and marquee village. A number of restaurants and bars are available at Cartmel racecourse: The Public Dining Room serves a single course hot and cold buffet with coffee. Chasers Restaurant - offers a 3 course buffet luncheon with coffee and afternoon tea. Champagne & Seafood Bar - serves champagne, a selection of wines and a varied seafood menu. Whisky & Wine Bar - serves a selection of wines and spirits. Public Bar - is fully licensed. Snack Bar - serves coffee, tea & baguettes
The Course Enclosure: This enclosure is family friendly and has a fairground and market stalls. In addition a public bar offers full bar facilities.
Directions
By Car: From the M6 junction 36 follow the A591. Then the A590 towards Barrow in Furness for about 10 miles. The course is well signposted from the motoway.
By Rail: Nearest station is Cark-in-Cartmel (raceday bus service to racecourse) or Grange-over-Sands station.
