Celtic have completed the signing of Jiri Jarosik from Chelsea.

Jarosik has inked a three-year deal with the option of another at the Scottish giants.

Chelsea are willing to let Jarosik leave as he is well down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

Jarosik spent last season on loan at Birmingham and impressed at St Andrews even though the club suffered relegation.

Celtic beat a host of clubs across Europe to sign the Czech Republic international and he will help fill the void left by the departure of Roy Keane following the Irishman's retirement.

Jarosik was delighted to make the move to Glasgow.

"It is a tremendous honour to sign for a club of Celtic's size and stature," Jarosik told the club's official website.

"It is a fantastic time to be joining Celtic, with the club again Scottish champions after doing so well last season and also with so much to look forward to in the Champions League.

"I am very excited about joining Celtic and hope to play a part in bringing even more success to the club."
