| Coventry secure Bischoff transfer |
Danish defender Mikkel Bischoff has joined Coventry City on a Bosman free transfer.
The young Dane moved to Manchester City from AB Copenhagen in 2002, but failed to establish himself at the club, where he featured in just two friendly games last season.
He is Sky Blues manager Micky Adams' fourth summer signing, after defender David McNamee, midfielder Don Hutchison and striker Wayne Andrews all signed up to The Ricoh Arena for next season's assault on The Championship.
"Mikkel is a competitive defender with great pace and at 24-years-old, he fits the profile of the kind of player we are looking for," Adams revealed.
"He went to Manchester City for a fee of £750,000 having achieved a big reputation in Denmark and I feel that his potential has yet to be fulfilled. We're hoping that will happen here at Coventry.
"There were lots of other football clubs interested in Mikkel both in the United Kingdom and abroad, so we're delighted that he's committed himself to Coventry City."
He has signed a two-year deal in the Midlands and Adams will be hoping Bischoff can provide the missing link for City's push towards a return to The Premiership.
