Johnson signs on at Goodison
Andy Johnson has put pen to paper on a contract keeping him at Goodison Park until 2011.

The England international signed the contract accompanied by Everton chief executive Keith Wyness and his secretary at the Lowry Hotel Manchester, after being given special leave from training by England coach Sven Goran Eriksson to finalise his move from Crystal Palace.

The medical appeared to pass smoothly for the former Birmingham City hitman and all that remains now is Johnson's official unveiling as an Everton player infront of the press tomorrow afternoon.

He will be paid a rumoured 40,000 pounds a week which will make him the highest paid Everton player ever. The transfer fee was believed to be around 8.6 million pounds breaking the original club record held after James Beattie was signed from Southampton by David Moyes.

Regarding his move Johnson said, 'I am looking forward to giving 110% in every game I play in and hopefully I can score goals for Everton.'

Evertonians will be hoping that Johnson lives up to his previous goal scoring exploits when considering a distinct lack of cutting edge infront of goal last season produced the lowest amount of goals scored by an Everton team in the Premier League.

The fans will also be eager to see a new Beattie-Johnson partnership in action during the coming preseason.
