Sampdoria have snapped up Mark Iuliano after he quit Mallorca.

Iuliano had his contract terminated by Mallorca by mutual consent on Monday because of personal problems.

The former Juventus man was thought to be unhappy in Spain and keen to return to his native Italy.

Sampdoria moved quickly to offer Iuliano a route back to Serie A and the central defender has signed a short-term deal until the end of the season.

The 32-year-old could make his debut in this week's Coppa Italia clash with Udinese.
