Jambos re-sign fans favourite
Hearts have re-signed former Southampton winger and Tynecastle favourite Neil McCann.

Jambos coach Graham Rix beat off competition from The Premiership, most notably Wigan Athletic, to sign the Scotland international on a two-and-a-half year contract.

The move back north brings to a close an unhappy stint at St Mary's where the 31-year-old failed to cement a first-team place and was subsequently released earlier this month.

Rix was delighted to secure the player's signature, revealing that McCann turned down an 'absolute fortune' from another side in favour of a return to the club where he first made his name.

"I am absolutely over the moon and hope it gives the supporters a real boost," said Rix.

"He is a smashing kid. He is a good player and he has lots of experience. He is so keen to join us. He has turned down an absolute fortune because he wants
to come here and play for us."

The former Rangers man is expected to announce his second coming as a Hearts player with an appearance at Kilmarnock in The SPL on Saturday.

McCann joined Saints in a £1.5 million deal in August 2003 but made just 21 starts in two-and-a-half years at the club.
