| Southampton agree Halls fee with Stoke |
Southampton have agreed an undisclosed fee with Stoke City to sign central defender John Halls.
Southampton chairman Rupert Lowe told his club's official website: "We have agreed terms and will meet him on Monday. He is a good age with a good background and we think he would be a good acquisition."
City chief executive Tony Scholes added: "In view that John made it clear he wants to move on, we feel it was the right decision to accept the offer and allow him to speak with Southampton."
Halls' future at the Britannia Stadium had been up in the air for some time after he rejected the offer of a new deal.
