| Espanyol hand Pandiani return to La Liga |
Walter Pandiani has sealed his move from Birmingham to Espanyol.
The Uruguayan had been hankering after a return to La Liga following a disappointing last few months in the Second City.
Pandiani failed to match the highs of last season and following the capture of Chris Sutton, he was allowed to move on by Blues boss Steve Bruce.
Espanyol agreed a £1 million deal with Blues on Thursday and Pandiani signed on the dotted line after passing a medical on Friday.
The 29-year-old first joined Blues on loan in January 2005 from Deportivo La Coruna, before the move was made permanent last summer when they shelled out some £3 million.
His disappointing form was mirrored by the malaise at St Andrews and he will hope to kick-start his career in Catalunya.
"I'm ready to play now and I can't wait to play although I don't know when I'll get the chance," he told a news conference.
"I was fine in England, but returning to Spain was an interesting option.
"I weighed it up with my family and here I am."
Peter Till is also on the move from St Andrews, with the forward heading to League Two Boston on a month's loan.
