| Ailton Pens Two Year Deal With Besiktas |
Besiktas have signed Brazilian striker Ailton in a €3.5 million deal from German side FC Schalke.
The 32-year-old, who scored over 100 goals in seven seasons in Die Bundeliga, has penned a two-year deal with the Turks, with the option of a further year.
Speaking at a press conference, a delighted Ailton said: "I am very happy with this chance. I feel I've come to a club with great tradition."
Besiktas vice-president Murat Aksu added: "We've signed a world-class player in Ailton who's been a top goalscorer in the Bundesliga."
Ailton later confirmed that he expects this to be his last big transfer before returning to his homeland at the end of his contract with Besiktas.
