| Keita Makes £2.3M Switch To Lille |
French side Lille have signed Ivory Coast striker Abdulkader Keita.
The African marksman plies his trade in Qatar with Al Sadd, but has now moved to Ligue 1 in a deal worth around £2.3 million.
Keita was prolific for the Doha based outfit during their first two AFC Champions League campaigns, but fell down the pecking order in this year's tournament.
The recent arrival of Brazilian marksman Emerson from Urawa Reds sealed Keita's fate, and he has now agreed on a switch to France.
Lille coach Claude Puel saw his side finish second in Ligue 1 last term to an all-powerful Lyon side, but is aiming to try and topple the champions this season.
He believes Keita could add more spark to their attacking line-up in a bid for another serious challenge to the title.
Puel has shown his faith in young striker Nicolas Fauvergue by handing him a new contract at the club.
The 20-year-old marksman has penned a new contract that ties him to the club until 2010, after impressing for France in the Toulon tournament.
