| Porto Fill Gap With Sonkaya |
Porto have moved quickly to fill the void made by Giourkas Seitaridis's departure by signing Fatih Sonkaya from Turkish side Besiktas.
The Portuguese side had also targeted AZ Alkmaar's Jan Kromkamp, but gave up on agreeing a fee with the Eredivisie club.
Fatih was a regular at the start of last season under Vicente Del Bosque, but the former Real Madrid coach lasted less than eight months in the job.
Porto were keen to sign a new full back following Seitaridis' big-money move to Russian outfit Dynamo Moscow.
Fatih is now looking to 'prove a point' to those who made him an outcast at Besiktas and repay Porto's faith in his ability.
"Nobody even looked at my face after a certain point. I even found out that I was going to be sold through the media.
"Porto sold their last right back for €10 million which shows how important I am as a replacement. I'm happy to be joining the former European champions."
