| Stillie Ends Pars Term With United Contract |
Dundee United have ended their search for a new goalkeeper by signing Derek Stillie from Dunfermline Athletic.
With The Terrors having lost the services of Nick Colgan and Tony Bullock, the SPL outfit were anxious to strengthen that area.
United boss Gordon Chisholm has held a long-term interest in Stillie and has stumped up an undisclosed fee for the 31-year-old.
Stillie, who had been keen to quit The Pars, has signed a two-year contract at Tannadice, much to the delight of Chisholm.
"I have been interested in Derek ever since we were alerted to his possible availability," Chisholm told the club's official website.
"He has proven ability and experience at SPL level and I am sure he will help strengthen the squad for the season ahead."
The former Wigan Athletic shot-stopper had indicated a desire to return south to finish his studies but he has been persuaded to stay in The SPL.
The signing of Stillie could end Chisholm's interest in former Terrors keeper Paul Gallacher, after he enquired about the Scotland international's availability.
