Hearts' Paul Hartley will sit out the next three games after being found guilty of a serious misconduct charge by the SFA's disciplinary committee.
The midfielder kicked Ross Wallace in an off-the-ball incident during their 3-2 defeat by Celtic on 1 January.
The disciplinary committee decided the offence, missed by the referee, merited a red card.
That meant an automatic one-match ban and 12 disciplinary points, leading to a further two-game ban.
"I regret it now but there is not much I can do, I have to take my punishment," said Hartley.
"It's disappointing. It was one of those things in the heat of the moment.
"It was a top-of-the-table clash and I reacted in the wrong way, so I have to take my punishment."
The Scotland international will miss the Tennent's Scottish Cup fourth-round tie with Aberdeen on Saturday.
He will return for the SPL games against Dundee United and Aberdeen then sit out the subsequent matches with Motherwell and Livingston.
