Rangers have made a late bid for Derek Riordan, testing Hibernian resolve before the Tuesday transfer deadline.
It is being reported that the fee may be around ?350,000 but this is still to be confirmed by either club.
A Hibs spokesman said: "We've had interest from more than one club.
"But the manager has said that the player has value because of his goals, talent and his contract. So offers would have to meet our valuation."
The Edinburgh club last week claimed that they had turned down an offer from German side Kaiserslautern, due to the low fee put on the table and boss Tony Mowbray, said at the time he would rather keep Riordan on than accept a low fee.
Riordan seemed to have made a blunder when refusing to move to Cardiff at the start of the season, but managed to fight his way into the team and has contributed 13 goals for the Hibs cause.
The Edinburgh club have now fallen below Rangers in the table, despite being 11 points ahead in November and may decide to cash in on the player who can leave at the end of the season for nothing.
