Beckham plays full Galaxy match  Latest Transfer

David Beckham has played his first full 90 minutes for Los Angeles Galaxy and expects to be fit to play in England's friendly against Germany on Wednesday.
After the 5-4 loss by the New York Red Bulls on astroturf at Giants Stadium, he said his injured ankle had flared up again but it was not a reason to worry.

"My ankle took a pounding. I'm not used to this surface but it wasn't bad," said the 32-year-old midfielder.

"It's more swollen than before the game but I'm sure it will be fine."

Beckham played a role in three of the Galaxy's goals but a brace from former Aston Villa striker Juan Pablo Angel helped the Red Bulls to victory.

Afterwards, Beckham said he was surprised to have lasted the whole game but added that the decision was largely his own.

"The coaching staff kept asking me if I wanted to come off but I'm quite a stubborn person on and off the field," he stated.

"When we were winning I didn't want to come off and when we were losing I didn't want to come off. I think my stubbornness took over."
