Rangers manager Alex McLeish has urged striker Federico Nieto to display his South American flair at Ibrox.
The 22-year-old scored for the Light Blues in the 5-1 win over Dunfermline on Saturday - just a minute and 14 seconds after replacing Thomas Buffel.
Nieto has signed a six-month loan deal from Argentinian club Almagro, with the option of a permanent contract in January.
But the Rangers boss has told the forward not to follow the "British style" at Ibrox.
McLeish told Rangers World: "Federico is a good finisher if we can get him in the box.
"In earlier weeks, when he was recovering from injury, he was making runs in channels, never in the box.
"I said 'Do what you did in Argentina - that is why we brought you here, not to turn you into a runner into corners in the British style'.
"We are looking for something different and we need somebody in the box.
"Dado Prso does a lot of his foraging outside of the box on the wings and we rarely see the big guy in the area.
"But, when he does pop up, he gets crucial goals for us." |
